I was born on the East Coast in Massachusetts. My father was in computers when I was growing up so I gained a keen interest when he brought me to work to see the punch card machines and tape drives. My first computer was a Commodore 64 bought by my grandmother. When I entered collage they didn’t have game programming which was what I wanted to go into, so I dropped out as I decided to learn on my own.
Many things distracted me and I didn’t get back into computers until right before the Internet took off with Netscape 1. I started Seahorse Designs with a friend developing webpages. It was an exciting time as we were 1 of 10 web design companies on Yahoo search. At that time Domain names were free. Starting out as a Perl programmer I eventually switched to PHP as it was much quicker to develop in and required less debugging time.
The tech industry has been quite changeable when it comes to web development so even though I would have stayed with many of the companies I worked for the jobs often ended just as I was enjoying them. The advantage has been that I gained numerous more skills in the process. Now ten years later the web has become quite complex and I find myself with the ability to handle most projects with ease.
So I look forward to helping you and your company get a grasp of the best solution to develop a high quality and quickly developed website or web application.
